The property encompassing the original St. Columbkille Church and Cemetery was donated by Mrs McCarty, Mr. John Johnson, and Mr. John Ganey I. In 1850, a log church, St. Columbkille was built. In those days, Masses were celebrated as they could be scheduled by the Redemptorist Fathers, who traveled there on horseback from St. Joseph Seminary in Kirkwood, Missouri. 

Three acres on Church Road were donated by Albert and Elizabeth Weber in 1905, and the St. Philomena Church was built on the east end of the property as a mission of St. Columbkille. The first Mass was celebrated on December 26, 1905 by Fr. Nazarene Orfei.

The story of Our Lady Queen of Peace begins in the early 1800's with Irish Catholics settling in the area between the Meramec and the Big River. In 1844 the first parish to serve the settlers of this area was established by Bishop Kenrick, the first Archbishop of St. Louis. The first church built to serve the new settlers was St. Patrick's of Down, located on the Meramec river about four miles south of Pacific.
